Application Process for IWLP modules
There are four routes if you wish to apply to take an IWLP language module. The route that you should choice depends on the applicant's circumstances.
Beginner route language modules are IWLP Stages 1, 2 and 3. These are aimed at beginners and post-beginners in a language.
Advanced route language modules are IWLP Grades 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 6A and 6B. These are aimed at students of post A-Level / B1 standard in a language.
Which IWLP route should you choose?
Route 1: UoP students applying for Beginner route modules for interest only
Students will need to complete their application online via the link on this page. The form will be accessible during the designated dates below.
Please note that first year undergraduate students are not permitted to take a language in the first teaching block of their first year, so should only complete an application for Teaching Block 2 of their first year.
PhD students (whatever your current language level) should complete their application online via the link on this page. The form will be accessible during the designated dates below.
Route 2: UoP students applying for Advanced route modules for interest only
UoP students applying for Advanced route modules for interest only will need to complete their application online via the link on this page. The form will be accessible during the designated dates below.
Route 3: UoP students opting for Beginner or Advanced route modules for credit
Students choosing a IWLP language for credit will apply via the online option service which is open to them in February. You do not need to re-apply through any other method once you have chosen your options. This will be automatically added to your planned curriculum for the following academic year.
Route 4: UoP staff applying for Beginner or Advanced route modules for interest will need to complete their application online via the link on this page. The form will be accessible during the designated dates below. Please note that, due to the high number of student applications, staff IWLP places are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
