This article explain what the Students’ Union is and does.

The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (UPSU) is an independent charity that is led by students’ for students. Its focus is on representation and participation for ALL students, from undergraduate to PhD, from mature students to international. 

The Union Building is at the heart of campus and is a great place to meet friends and make use of a range of student-friendly study and social spaces. The Union is open from 9am-4pm five days a week during term-time (The Common Room and Third Space are open until 11pm term time). Outside of term time the Union is open 9am-3pm and you can always contact hello@upsu.net if you have any queries.

The Union offers a range of support services, development opportunities and represents student needs throughout the University and in the community. 

• If you are looking for social opportunities and groups you can join then The Union’s activities are for you.
• If you are looking to make change at the University at course level, improve services or make a wider impact at the Union and University then you should check out the Union’s representation programme.
• If you need support or help with ECFs, Academic Appeals or you are thinking about changing course, then you should get in touch with the Advice Service.
