This article will explain what the Careers and Employability Service is and how you can access it.

The Careers and Employability Service, offers support to students and graduates* with part-time jobs, career planning, work experience, volunteering, placements, business startup and graduate jobs to support entry into graduate work, further study or starting up a business.

The Careers and Employability Service provides a wide range of services including:

  • Careers advice - advice and guidance on career planning, CVs, application forms, interviews, assessment centres and further study

  • Job opportunities - access to MyCareer online jobs board and the Graduate Recruitment Consultancy, the University of Portsmouth’s very own on-campus recruitment team

  • Volunteering and work experience - volunteering bank with a variety of roles and organisations

  • Enterprise - startup and freelance advice, regular enterprise courses and hot-desking and office space for startups

  • Events - annual Graduate Recruitment and Placement Fair and on campus employer events

*Please note that the Careers and Employability Service supports graduates for up to five years from graduation.
